The report on the Albanian Media Landscape, realized by the Institute for Development, Research and Alternatives (IDRA), with the support of the Embassy of United States of America in Albania, offers a better understanding of the media landscape in Albania, national media policies, legislative environment and regulatory authority
This qualitative/ quantitative study aimed at gauging the level of perception of the Impunity phenomenon in Albania, its understanding from the public, the effect different institutions have in the widespread or fight against the phenomenon, as well as the factors (cultural, social, economic) affecting its existence, assess the level of citizens trust in institutions, as well as gauge their performance so far.
The Freedom of Vote and Family Voting study was conducted in 2014 by the Institute for Development Research and Alternatives (IDRA) with the technical and financial assistance of the UN Women. It consisted on a national survey of 2000 respondents, of age 18+ years old.
The 5-year project was a complex set of surveys aiming to explore the perceptions, attitudes and experiences of Albanian public towards the corruption phenomenon. The research also aimed at evaluating Albanian citizens, trust in institutions, their level of involvement in democratic processes, as well as their perceptions on good governance. Additionally, the study evaluated perceptions of actors involved in the judiciary sector in Albania, on corruption, good governance, as well as their current level of trust in public institutions.
Institute for Development and Research Alternatives, the development partner of IDRA Research & Consulting, issued the preliminary findings on media monitoring project during the electoral campaign. The findings were presented in a Press Conference on June 20th in Tirana. This project has sought to evaluate the mass media,s performance in providing objective and balanced coverage of contestants and their platforms so the citizens of Albania can make well-informed choices at the ballot box for June 23rd General Elections.
